United Kingdom (Tour)
Robin Hood/Nurse Nelly
With Robin Hood reaching having already reaching it's finale with M&M I had a blast. Robin Hood certainly had more of a stressful rehearsal process than before but none the less we set out on the road with fun and joy around the UK. I learnt a lot specifically with this tour as I finally got to debut as a Dame like character, Nurse Nelly. Nurse Nelly was a dime to play as allowing me to break free of the Principal Boy energy mid way through the show. My energy with my cast mates on stage proved to be a delight with lots of adlibbing and audience interaction.
This year we also dealt with a lot of cover and sickness and it wasn't myself this time. This meant that we performed two 3 man shows. which proved to be very stressful but at the same I'm glad it happened as it's something I can tick off my list. This meant that we had 4 different actors playing a character throughout some of the weeks of December. This meant that we had to really be on the ball with the show, picking up lines for the other actors/characters that may have been missed or ultimately changing the show to suit other actors needs. I'm glad it happened as it proved to be a good stepping stone for me as an actor to really test my ability to remain calm onstage whilst also thinking about future scenes and what's going on backstage.
Each year I'm with M&M has been a delight and I learn a lot each time I do it and I feel that shows considering this year I was a nominee for best Principal Boy.
This was the longest tour I've done with M&M adding just below a month of rehearsal and performance time, finishing with 130 shows performed. With both Jack and Snow white I started in October.
I think each year I do M&M it's something I enjoy more, perhaps next year will be the year I decide to take on tour manager.
